This is a solid escape game with LOTS of puzzles. You find yourself trapped in an unknown place and begin working through each room/area to make your escape. You have full freedom of movement within each section of the tower and must complete all activities before moving ahead. The achievement for journal entries requires collecting all entries before leaving each area. as there is no way to circle back for missed items. This is not a hardship, as the interface tracks your progress. There are also some secret achievements that turn out to be fun to discover and experiment with.
The puzzles are diverse and include “find and use” inventory items and some mechanical exercises (pipes, a slider, etc.). Most require interpreting clues found in the environment and in the journal pages. While some puzzles are quite simple for the observant gamer, there are a few that had me totally stumped. The developer posted a guide which I admit using a couple of times! There are dependencies between puzzles that are not always obvious.
