Very true to the card game. I would say this is the best adaptation from card to board game of all time. They work closely with the original creators to ensure the rules are followed correctly, and the functions of the game make sure the players are better informed of all the world effects then the real game. It does all the book keeping for you and makes it even more enjoyable then the physical game. If you like the card game this is a must have for you! The ability to find a game across any platform is super cool and worth having. The updates are also put forward at a reasonable pace. They have almost caught up to the cardboard game!
The best card game and superhero game there is. Addictively good, and hilarious to play with your friends on voice. The expansions are absolutely dirt cheap; there is no cause for complaint with them, and are easily scooped up even for the tightest of tight-budgeted gamers. And there is a rich lore behind the game as well – there are character bios in game (in the “Multiverse” section) and more that has been provided by the devs via word-of-god. In short: 10/10, would play again any time, and RA CARES NOT.
for those who have never played sotm: this is a fantastic co-op or solo card game, the music and art is charming and the mechanics have a lot of depth. it’s easy to pick up, particularly since the game does a great job of tracking (and showing) all the little fiddly bits that can make the tabletop version a nightmare. the base game has a lot of content but i highly recommend you get the dlc once you have a handle on the rules, the extra heroes, villains, and environments add so much to an already great game.
