While Clicker Heroes 2 is fundamentally decent for people who enjoy clicker games, I just can not recommend the game to anyone. While some people prefer different versions of the game, a lot of people do not like the current iteration of Clicker Heroes 2 compared to previous versions. Additionally, the game is in a very incomplete and broken state. A lot of stuff just does not work and it is unlikely that there will ever be an update to the game to adjust the gameplay, fix the bugs, and complete the game. Finally, while a lot of people value money and games differently, I don’t find the current price tag for the game worth it for how the game is and how much you get from it. I personally feel like the game had a lot of potential and the first game was also okay, for people who enjoy clicker games, but unfortunately… Clicker Heroes 2 fell short and will probably never reach it’s potential.
You have a made a good game at it’s core here. There are multiple things that are wrong with this installment, but I believe they CAN be fixed and worked out, starting with price. Charging 20 USD for a sequel to a free game was too much of a difference for most players. I understand studios need money to produce the product, but a game like this would have been better suited with a 10-15 dollar price tag.
Secondly, mechanics. The “limited clicking” due to clicks costing energy (a resource that regenerates shockingly slow) was a bad idea. This can be sped up by ascending a few times, but that can take actual WEEKS of constant grinding up the worlds and stages. The issue is the worlds are too long for casual players (and some hard-core players like myself) with 100 stages to complete a planet, and 30 planets to complete a system.
