i expected a good spin on games like papers, please or perhaps don’t feed the monkeys! but was disappointed. the dialogue was pretty bland and the characters rather transparent/predictable. not very many cute or funny collectibles/hidden dialogues/ etc in-game. I beat the game the first time then went back a second time to see if i just happened to choose a lame ending (nope!). In the process I came to realize that your choices barely matter. plus many unanswerable questions for the sake of ambiance.
the main game play can be soothing at times, but most of the time it’s either annoying or boring. Also if you’ve read the book 1984, all the twists were pretty predictable. wish I could recommend but not for the price i got it at ($10<). In terms of story pacing, it’s way too slow to start and then happens way to fast. I get that that is the vibe they are trying to impart, that the main character’s experience is like that, but it doesn’t make for good story telling imo.
It was by a pure luck I found this game and I’m forever grateful that I did. For a very low price you get Papers Please – esque game that manages to pull off not only an engaging gameplay, but tie it to a plot that keeps you wondering what’s gonna happen next ( for the first time it certainly does).
