with the content the game currently has, which while decent isn’t ginormous or anything, i dont think its quite worth the current pricetag unless you’re really itching for a game like this.
the melee combat is very fun, enemies and their attacks are all slightly ‘limp physics’ as opposed to the more ‘rigid’ style that B&S has for example…this makes hitting enemies feel a bit better in some ways as they get moved a bit more with swings, plus the game has an impaling system that even lets you pull the weapons out sideways by ‘cutting through’ them, though afaik it doesnt do more damage, just feels good to do. its certainly a different feel to the flow of combat compared ot B&S, where with that game attacks feel a bit stiff and a bit too ‘canned’ or over the top sometimes. here everything feels like it leans more into the physics side of it, and generally feels better imo.
personally some of the spell effects are lackluster, im talking how they look/feel…though most of what ive tried is some fire and the first lightning spell, it’s basically a taser but you can shoot it, and i like my magic feeling powerful/looking good so that kinda dissapoints me, hopefully they can be improved sometime down the line to look a bit nicer (or maybe the first spells just look lackluster on purpose). the portal spell looks really nice though.
