For the price, it delivers more than most titles can boast, and development continues at a steady pace without any significant roadblocks. The (solo) developer noted a recent spate of negative reviews and he’s taking them seriously, which alone is a reason to give this game a thumbs up. No, this isn’t polished to perfection, but as it has improved over the years, I never found its (often short-lived) shortcomings to be so “annoying” as to render it “unplayable” — as some apparently are saying. The distance-based difficulty (the bad guys get tougher as you get further from your base) is a great concept. Crafting is fun and works well. Plenty of biomes and the random world generator makes this game enjoyable to replay. The progression and growth of your character is deep and complex — so many paths to choose from. And all at a decent price. This game is most comparable to Medieval Dynasty in many ways, without the medieval vibe, but with a richer character progression and a generated world that always brings surprises. The learning curve isn’t THAT high and if you stick with it, the game will grow on you.
