I like this one, but I like 4-2 more and I like 2 the best. There are some downgrades especially in terms of combat feel. The first and the most blatant is the homogenizing of weapon styles. It used to be that SW has each character has a specific weapon (not weapon types) and each one of them has very unique feel to them. You have Nagamasa doing wide sweeps and strong AOEs, you have Nobunaga with his AOE edgy explosions and then you have Oichi doing juggles to 200 goons like nobody’s business.
This is no longer the case. Each character can equip any weapon BUT they have 1 or 2 preferred weapons. Preferred weapons have certain moves that differ from other ones like the second charge attack being changed to AOE or some such. Therefore, removing any and all semblance of character uniqueness in terms of feel and combat. Everybody should just equip and odachi and spam 3rd charge attack and everything will be fine TRUST ME. This sucks.
Secondly, animations are, holy moly, stiff. In previous games, movement flow from one to the other seamlessly but I have a somewhat of a mixed feeling about this game’s animations. It feels like between each attack is a split 0.2 seconds where you are exposed and the animation stops. Its sort of like the swing back animation that locks you in it. I don’t know, it could just be me on this one though.
Other than that, I feel like there’s less oomph from the music. There’s no music so far that I feel like, hey this is pretty good. But so far, the only thing I’ve felt was cringe. There are instances where I feel like I’m sort of playing a power rangers game set in the Sengoku period instead of playing as actual historical bushido warriors who put honor above all else. There are also songs where I feel like the creator clearly played or have worked on Dynasty Warriors before this and really like the Lu Bu theme song. Harbor Havoc Lag Method Teleport Roblox Scripts
