I do recommend this game, however, there are a lot of features that seem like they need adjusting. After over 150 hours, I can firmly say the only way to play this game is with mods. The current diplomacy mechanics for having your own kingdom are horrible in their current state, almost impossible to negotiate a decent tribute peace deal even if you have 20+ lords as prisoners.
The base game is a decent product but with the mod cRPG this becomes the best game available for MP Medieval PVP combat. Played cRPG for 10+ years and there is nothing like it. An immensely deep and amusing community of varied medieval fighters. 100% Recommend @ me if you are interested!
Could be fleshed out more in certain areas (characterisation & storytelling in particular) but the core of the game is fantastic, the mechanics make sense, the battles are very tactical and lots of fun, the setting is also great, drawing from history but not giving us the same old map of Europe we’ve been fighting on our whole lives (if you’re into grand strategy at all).
