Despite the fact that my stats say I played this for less than an hour, I have finished it several times on my Steam Deck offline and that time is for some reason not reflected, which seems to be an issue with any game in general.
I played the first RCG on PS4 a couple of years ago and I loved it. It was like playing the original River City Ransom but with more emphasis on the fight mechanics, and full of easter eggs and jokes about the various River City Ransom-related games, including the Double Dragon franchise by having characters Jimmy and Billy run the dojos where you learn new moves and Marian having her own shop, and even have Abobo as a boss.
Well, this one is mostly more of the same but better, so to speak. More special moves, more characters to play and more jokes about what it’s like to live in a video game beat ’em up world, especially the one where the River City and Double Dragon games take place, including a ton of easter eggs and references.
The story picks up just after the end of the last game when Misako and Kyoko defeated a Yakuza boss thinking she had kidnapped their boyfriends Kunio and Rikki, the protagonists of the original River City Ransom game, just to find out they’d just gone to a spa to relax, so now the Yakuza’s brother and father of course want revenge and set it off by getting Misako an Kyoko expelled from River City High (though Kyoko reminds us she doesn’t even go to that school, like she said in the previous game). If you liked the first one, you’ll probably like this one. I felt it was a bit less difficult, but that’s fine by me.
Super cool game, even better than the first one imho. The game has more content, more characters (the existing ones have more moves), and there is Japanese voice acting in this one which is better imo. Gameplay is fun, the OST is decent like the 1st one, graphics are still super good, characters and bosses are super cool. Like the 1st one the story isn’t really serious and is funny, which works very well. Enjoyed it a lot so I definitely recommend it. Sermon GuI Spread The Word Of God Roblox Scripts
