extensive interaction options and a lot of pixel blood. Full disclosure: I have worked on this game as a translator and editor. However, I have been a huge fan of this series since the very first installment back in 2001, which means I kinda grew up with Valnar, Asgar, and Alaine. The characters are very complex and so is this dark story about vampires, loss, and tragedies. Asgar is probably my favorite character; he is sarcastic, evil, and totally insane. Valnar is easy to identify with as he seems to be the most grounded protagonist and he is quite open about his emotions. Alaine is our witty and strong female lead and I cannot help but feel sympathy for her background story. We will meet many more interesting characters in this game and each of them has their own agenda.
A couple years ago I was looking for a dark horror rpg and I found this game and I bought it without quite realizing there wasn’t an English translation even though it seemed like one was forthcoming (there is an unofficial one now). When I realized that I couldn’t play this game in English I just sorta groaned and was like oh well and then I looked into the series more. I then found and played Vampires Dawn 2 for free with a really good English translation.
I am going to try and keep this review brief because I do tend to ramble a lot. Vampires Dawn 2 was a free RPG maker game in the mid 2000s that really did a lot of impressive things even if the gameplay a person could get tricked and stuck on, I didn’t and yea. The characters were really interesting and I liked how the game was laid out. I completed it and was satisfied.
