That first glance was more than enough to have me scroll by most days, but I was particularly bored and I had already played through a few of the gems. So I clicked.
Long story short, Steam may say that I only have 4 hours on this game, but I actually have more. Add at least 15 more hours and you get the idea. This game, with its simple design, simple mechanics, and simple goals, triggered the ‘happy, clicky-click’ part of my brain and I played this game instead of doing homework, or playing the subjectively more entertaining games on my phone. I had to complete all the goals, get the *spoiler,* solve the *spoiler,* and finish the game. Or, finish the game as best as possible, and then start all over again. I loved figuring out how to make my towering city the most efficient, while still visually pleasing. I loved making up challenges for myself and completing said challenges, only to figure out a new one while pretending I was doing my English project and avoiding eye contact with my teachers. Finally, I played the demo out. There was nothing else I could do. I had physically done it all and then some, so I shut down my laptop, with the game on the screen, for the final time.
