Endless waves survival is a decent arcade twinstick – get in game, kill enemies too level up and increase stats OR get/upgrade attacks, collect gold to buy equipment or consumables. Goal is to survive as long as possible. So why negative? There is no progression – no unlocks or roguelite elements so you have all the tricks at your disposal in each run and it’s just about getting better. That’d still be fine but the pace is too slow and there’s little variety to each stage. It’s too monotonous and samey very quick.
If the pace was increased (maybe faster player/enemy movement, faster attack rates) and more variety added to enemy behaviour (they all just chase you and turn into a huge clump) it’d be better. Perma progression and unlocks are always nice but that might be asking too much. Maybe different visuals at least (colour palettes or enemy skins, different arena visuals) could be relatively easy to implement.
This game is awesome. i would love to see like some basic achievements and then some stupid difficult ones. Also if when you killed the theifs, if they dropped the gold they picked up that would be sick since there fairly difficult to actually get the chance to kill. Killing the boss is impossible. Everytime you kill an enemy it instantly spawns another, and it forms an entire barrier around the boss making it impossible to attack.
I think it has many options in terms of cards/abilities and characters. Most of the time I’ve played it’s been really cathartic, though the skeletons annoy me lol. So ye, my experience has been really good so far. I’m looking forward to more updates in the future! I recommend it if you want something fun that doesn’t require a high-end PC.
