This Nintendo Porting which draws heavily from numerous other famous titles (Boulder Dash and Metroid to give a couple of examples) offers truly simple but fascinating gameplay and good depth It may seem stupid to complain about a metroidvania doing this, but in this game the entire path you make is destructible so there isn’t really a linear path for you to get to these areas anymore. It served as a passable prequel to the second adventure, whilst not as good, sprawling and expansive in its scope as the second game, in its own right a wonderful enough game.
