People praise this game for having a deep and intricate set of systems that give the game a realistic edge, but for me, I care not to get to that point because of the unappealing visuals and unintuitive controls. Instead of having a simple UI and controls, it defies all logic when it comes to building games. It’s awkward and not fluent at all.
This game has been in early access since 2017, and in 2024, it still game-breaking hows. It feels unfinished and unsatisfactory (pun somewhat intended). I’ve been following the updates from the sideline until I finally got this game in 2023 (because for 6 whole years, the highest discount this game has ever seen was 20% off…), and progress appears to have been made incredibly slowly. I can’t really speak for it because of my lack of playing hours, but people are talking left and right of bugs and save corruption. Especially in building games, that is concerning.
All of this combined makes me say save your money and buy Factorio or Satisfactory instead. Seeing how little the game has progressed and the player count struggling to rise over the years, it would not surprise me one bit if the game ends up being abandoned within a year or two. This is a game that makes you think and does very little hand-holding. If you like science, physics or math, this is the game for you. Its also a brutal, unforgiving survival game. An amazing game. Has challenging worlds, lots of systems and mechanics to play with. Has a programming mechanics where you can control devices with code, which puts it in a very short list of special games.
