STANDBOX is about that urge that you might have had as a kid, when you were more interested about the tech-demo than the game advertised. It’s an interactive sandbox where you get to bully a smart ragdoll. He can stand, tries to balance himself up, fall and get back-up, and is animated by an approximation of a medical system that includes organs. I dunno. It satisfies my morbid fascination with ragdolls and killing them repeatedly in a variety of ways. But with this little variety, confusing yet limited weapon selection and nearly unusable default camera controls, this game only gets. The graphics are good and the blood and gore is great and blood coloring.

This is a great game. A really intense building game that will always keep you on your toes Most environments feel spacious enough to take full advantage of the diverse mobility options at Johnny’s disposal – options you will have to use, if you want to get all the various secrets and Easter eggs scattered in the most unthinkable recesses of this crumbling colony. The checkpoint system is fair and respects your time while not being excessively forgiving: it strikes a great balance, and there’s also manual saving, although not at the higher difficulties.
