I expected Omega Labyrinth Life to be just a cute game full of adorable girls and whilst I wasn’t wrong on that aspect, as the girls are indeed super cute, I didn’t expect it to contain that many fan-service scenes. Although I don’t think it’s a bad thing, because this game has much more to offer than only fan-service, it’s not exactly a nudity game nor focuses too much on it. And on the other hand, it might be quite amusing when you don’t take it too seriously, which you really shouldn’t while playing Omega Labyrinth Life. That being said, I rather thought of this game as a relaxing one where you can spend more time with multiple waifus with challenging but nostalgic gameplay, to say the least. You see, I’ve always been a fan of mystery dungeon games and it’s a pity that there are so few out there. But that only makes me even happier when I happen to stumble across one.
Omega Labyrinth Life opens with Hinata Akatsu who is enrolling in Belle Fleurs Academy although she gets lost on her first day. She finds herself in a strange so-called mystery dungeon but luckily, manages to escape thanks to someone’s help whose identity stays a mystery, for now. After managing to arrive at the academy, she gets introduced to the famous garden of flowers right away, a garden where flowers never wilt. Right after this day, all flowers suddenly died overnight and thus, the students are blaming Hinata as it happened right after her arrival. Trying to prove her innocence, she decides to investigate the mystery dungeons with her friend to save the garden.
The story is quite simple and reminds me of a typical RPG where the hero is trying to save the world although it’s technically a garden here. I personally enjoyed the story, but like aforementioned, it’s important to keep in mind that it’s a light-hearted game overall with a few comedic scenes and not meant to be serious in any way. I have to admit, I had plenty of fun just alone going through the dialogue of the girls and I especially took a liking of Hinata as she’s just so innocent that I want to keep her safe all the time. While I didn’t like most characters at first, they started to warm up after our heroine proved that she wasn’t the culprit behind the awful incident but just wanted to help.
