I bought Ninja Storm 4 and loved it so decided to buy the Trilogy. Started with this one and absolutely hated every second of it. I was actually the most excited about this one because of the freerun around Konoha (I’ve played the out of Rise of a Ninja and Broken Bonds as a kid) but the freerun in this game is empty, annoying, slow and unsatisfying. Fights are okay I guess, but the fact that I need to finish side quests to be able to do main quest is insanely stupid. Moreover the fighting missions doesn’t only require you to win the fight, but you have to win it in the EXACT way the game wants you to. You beat your enemy senseless and never got hit?
Well too bad because you didn’t finish them with Ninjustsu so you failed and have to do it again. It’s absolutely moronic. I liked these conditions in Ninja Storm 4 because they were more like additional challenges, not a requirement. Before giving up I decided to try another mission. It was to find Konohamaru and his friends. This mission would be boring anyway (Rise of a Ninja had it done right) but on top of that every time you check a box there is a 5 second animation playing of Naruto being disappointment. EVERY TIME. You can’t skip it. Every time you check a box and it’s wrong you have to wait for about 5 seconds for the animation to finish playing.
