Cave Story. A beautiful yet challenging game featuring two of my favorite characters Quote and Curly (Brace). I played on easy at first and wondered why Quote was orange/yellow, but I eventually switched to original and it was all good. The art style is charming and the soundtracks were quite lively (especially Bushlands, Sandzone and Plantation/Main Menu). The diversity of weapons is also neat as it allows for multiple playstyles according to the player, and it rewards skillful playing by letting you upgrade your weapons and keep them powered up. And sure, some of the bosses and what not could have been better/more balanced, including the final spoiler boss which has no saves on your way to him. But honestly, most of what I’d say about how I play or what I struggle with is all in my honest opinion.
Edit: After getting the true ending with Curly, I can safely say that I’ve improved quite a lot as I first tried the spoiler boss at the end. It’s all about learning a moveset and adapting to change. And I am happier now that I’ve gotten the true ending with both characters! One last thing is that I may never forget this game, ever! And if I ever did, I would actually cry/sob.

How you saved me from drowning and serviced me properly after the fact. When you earned my Tungsten Trust by being so caring and understanding. And when you convinced me that there is still a fight to win, despite me feeling like all was lost…
I have unfinished business back at home, at the very same company who tried to kill me and who created the “Scout Killers”. I trust you with all levels of my tungsten and xenon body, and I also trust that you will follow me through to the other side of that teleporter.
