The storyline, a whirlwind of intrigue and betrayal, has been hailed as the greatest story of the 20th century and was the third title in the METAL GEAR series to become a hit in subsequent years. Also included: Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, an exclusive digital Screenplay Book and Master Book that details the story and characters in Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. The graphics are first rate. I’ve been awestruck by the awesome beauty of it all so many times. You also have to care for your horse – feed and brush it.
You have to make your character eat and his hair actually grows and you can trim it or style it. There’s hunting and finding treasure and mini games like poker and dominoes. There’s an honor system that will raise or lower your honor depending on whether you play as a bad guy or a good guy. All this to say, it is way more than just a shooter. I really can’t recommend this game enough. It is beautiful and immersive. It is how every game should strive to be. . I assumed it would be just running around and shooting everything.
