I should start this by saying that this game is a masterpiece. Not only that, but this is, in fact, one of the, if now the one, best games I have ever played in my entire life. I know it sounds kind of weird to say it like that, but everytime I wonder or get asked what my favorite game is, this one is always mentioned. Truth to be told, I got to know it because I saw its sequels (Dreamfall Chapters) on the store and thought the story sounded nice, but I admit that I didn’t even get to play the next games. Either way, I saw them and decided to buy this one as well and… well.
I’m not a fan of point-and-click games like this one, which is funny, all things considered. But, I also like to think that, if the story is good enough, I can get through anything. And, you know, we are talking about a game from 1999, and we have to admit that the graphics……. But still, I (as someone who loves nice graphics) didn’t even notice them. The game is kind of ‘chunky’, I should say, but to be completely honest? These points I just made are the only bad things I have to say about it
The ambience of the game is one of the BEST I’ve ever seen in my life. The main character is very likeable (or at least, I think so) and the pace in which the story gets going is breathtaking. The game is completelly and fully voiced, which is really nice for such an old game, but it’s also essential for it to be so freaking good. The puzzles are really interesting, not that easy, but not incredibly hard as well. I think, actually, that they fit the game very well. The other characters we meet are really interesting and well-written.
