One of the biggest problems with many of the new puzzles… is that they rely on unwieldy physics which fail a lot of the times. For example – Some trials have you whacking objects with your hammer or chucking cubes around, most of these are inconsistent. Charging up your hammer to hit the ball might wack it straight up over a wall;where you want it to go or if you move backwards a “tad” a “hair” it might send it to the abyss; not what you wanted. Throwing a box to the place it needs to go; based on the angle the box lands, it may instantly break which makes no sense at all to me.
This one is kinda the same as the one above, in a way) Most of the trials come to trial and error with how elaborate and frustrating some of the puzzles are. Move a box and it breaks due to physics and then have to re-do it all over again… and again… and again. Frustration to the max. A few of the trials involve you in fighting your way through waves of monsters, these are largely filler. A few of these offer anything meaningful different from the base game considering all the new tools we have at our disposal… made it feel disappointing.
So… this DLC is just more a hit and miss for most players in my opinion. Combat challenges are uninteresting, puzzles are a pain to retry and the physic-based puzzles are inconsistent but there is a nice variety of puzzle types, story is less in the way of gameplay and the new contraptions build on puzzle-solving solutions. Ugh… I would love to give this a NEUTRAL review but I can’t – STEAM DOES NOT LET YOU. 5/10 for this DLC, I do like it as I love the Mythology and Deities.
