Weapons are great, but if you could combine copies in some way it would make it more meaningful when you see lower power versions of ones you have in shops. Rather that just ignore them. Some kind of skill tree / stat buy where you can upgrade your cooldown, damage, health. Even heal/kill stats, depending on your build; sometimes the shop selection don’t be hitting right and I’d like to spend my cogs somehow. If weapons could be augmented in some way (but rather than tied to relics); flamethrowers having extra reach, scrapguns pierce through a meter (idk scale of the game. Just a random unit) of terrain, maybe you choose a buff on every rankup like from point 1.
Automatons dying after a couple fights made me avoid taking them, maybe if you lowered their impact and made them respawn every fight (or respawn after a repair). Would make them feel more valuable. Maybe being able to put new weapons on them. I wouldn’t mind more drastic relics. Maybe if you have a flamethrower, a relic that lowers your max health but gives big heals every kill would suit some builds and playstyles. This would give more build variety than just the weapons you own all working independently.
