IF you came here for the paradox title and not the star trek, i can not recommend at this point. its kinda basic and some stuff that players would prefer to do themselves is automated. However, IF you came here for the star trek game, i can highly recommend. while im sure the fed will get the lions share of the detail as usual iv loving the detail so far. Lots of time went into the events to draw inspiration from all series in the franchise. I truly hope the paradox fan boy toxicity doesn’t discourage more support. More playable factions in Alpha/Beta quadrants like gorn, Breen, and a Orin Pirate faction, the Gamma and Delta quadrant would be amazing additions with plenty to draw on like Dominon and Species 8472. as well as room for new original content.
Small expansions for ships, mechanics, and new faction specs would be Greatly appreciated as well. their are a few bugs but nothing glaring at this point. a few grips about ease of play of few things being clickable to speed things up but nothing egregious. All in all i highly recommend to my good ol trekkies, and only recommend to paradox players if your looking for a compact, simple, kinda lite paradox-strategy game, otherwise i would pass on it.
I played the Federation all the way through and found myself accidentally locked out of various missions because things weren’t timed correctly. The worst one is Cardassia integrating Bajor early in the game, yet multiple important missions requiring liberating Bajor. The timing here feels really off. Ultimately, the Federation is limited to wars of humiliation against other empires. It begins to make late game very boring. By the time the Borg crisis began to be triggered, I was so strong that the Borg seemed like a sad joke. I was genuinely surprised at how easy the entire game felt. I am playing through another campaign as Cardassia, but it’s hard to get the motivation to play much knowing how empty much of the rest of the game feels.
