I come from a background of playing the hardest champs in League of Legends like Riven and Azir, to loving the tempo and artistry of combat in Sekiro (and Jedi:FO & Lies of P), to Starcraft 2, and even Ghostrunner, which this game has a lot of similarities to. If you love any of those kinds of games for what they are: high tempo mechanical gameplay to the point whereby if you perfect, it becomes an art form, you will love this game.
While this game shares a lot of qualities in Ghostrunner, its more similar to Super Monkey Ball in terms of just getting you into the action and playing. Ghostrunner has a lot of padded out scenes where you’re not running but being immersed in the story. Which isn’t a bad thing, but can be a bit dull for some (me included at times despite finding the story interesting). Cyberhook doesn’t take the gas off the pedal. You are the driver, and you’re given the car and all its bits and bobs very early on. You are off the races quicker and they don’t waste your time, which is awesome. There are plenty of levels, and of course they get harder, and of course there’s a timer & par time, and of course there’s a leaderboard. It never bores you, it keeps the action going, and it’s well worth the money.
Great game with fun, intuitive grappling mechanics that’ll allow your skill to take the lead. Fun variety of maps that gradually compound techniques revealed earlier, but everything’s available from the outset, so if you have a speedrunner’s mindset/catalog of techniques, this is a treasure trove.
