The gameplay itself, is actually pretty solid, keeping in mind that it’s essentially a 90s era wrestling game. I actually prefer the timing-based grappling system to what we see in a lot of the modern WWE game. Striking moves however, are a nightmare to pull off, as you need to be in exactly the right place. The capacity to create and customize however, is almost like a gaming experience in itself. The amount of fun you can have creating a wrestler and trying to make them function and perform precisely how you want, is incredible. Whether it’s a real life wrestler or something you’ve made up, it’s so rewarding when a simulated match goes the way you want it to. With the in-depth move-maker, there’s really very little you can’t achieve with this. I’d just warn that all of this has a significant learning curve at first but there’s a whole community out there who have made guides to cover anything and everything you might need.
