This game surprised the hell out of me when it became one of my favorites back on the Vita. It’s a very grindy traditional rpg with no towns, the whole thing is a dungeon with save points. In 2023 terms, the battle system is kind of like an autobattler brain with roguelite decision making (game is not roguey at all, notably, it’s a linear rpg). You have four party members who each offer you an action they’ll do that turn, and offer better actions the further their skill tree is progressed. The tank always offers Guard when a boss charges a strong attack, and they have AI to not use weak attacks late game.
It hits a good balance of purity of battle mechanics and ease of grinding, early on you gain the ability to summon encounters on top of heal points, and put off encounters entirely elsewhere. It’s an INCREDIBLY grindy game, but you’d pick it up because you want that. I really wish there was a version without the touchscreen games lmao. But a definite recommend if you like grindy, simple but well designed RPGs and can stomach the intermittent loli electrocution lol
Come for the lewds, stay for the music and story =) This was a surprisingly enjoyable game with great VA and interesting characters, wrapped up with some lewd minigames and a grimly challenging battle system – I honestly didn’t expect the combat to give me so much trouble, but you can expect to be grinding for levels a *lot* due to some of the tougher enemies.
However, to say that this was butchered for its English localised release would be an understatement. The censor’s cruel knife hacked this apart like a slasher victim, and modding is absolutely utterly ESSENTIAL.
