And because it’s noticeable that every run just goes a little bit better than the last, it feels great to finally improve enough to beat a stage. After beating an unbelievably hard boss with multiple phases and seeing what appears to be the ending, the game tells you you’ve now “unlocked hard mode”. That had me in disbelief for a few moments. In reality though, “hard mode” (or Zangyou Mode) is actually a very fun second part to the story that I really recommend you play. I’m not sure if I actually found it to be harder than the first part, but maybe that’s because the game so naturally and gradually pushes you to get better all the time.
