I picked up this game not knowing what to expect. It turned out to be way more fun than I could have imagined. it has a feel of those old N64 games like Banjo and Kazoie, or Mario 64 where you are running around these larger levels finding tons of collectibles. The best part about this game is every time I tried to run towards a main objective my ADHD would take hold on my way and I would start finding mini bosses to fight, secret areas of the map to collect more cosmetics, and mini puzzles to solve. I just finished the game last night but I am going to go back and keep collecting all things I missed. I cant wait for more levels to be released in the future.
Bang on Balls is a fantastic platformer that resembles old classics from the n64 and PS2 era. Theme-based worlds offer complete freedom when entering, much like in the latest Zelda or Mario games. Its the perfect game to grab a beer and chill out. The level design is amazing, combat is enjoyable, collecting items and solving puzzles is a blast (thanks to the totally destructible environment). The soundtrack is a joy to listen to, every song is a banger. In addition, the game is packed with references, amusing easter eggs, and satire against real nations. We need more games like this.
