The user interface is sleek with several ways to find and interact with necessary work. The hinting system is excellent if some part of the production chain stalls on me, for the lack of some branches I can get an alert to fix the issue. Very crafting oriented.
A lot of comparison to Rimwold in the comments so far . ClanFolk has that top down, 2-d, pawn design. But that’s just about all it has that is similar. Totally different universe by comparison. Where RimWorld is the a universe of drugs, death, slaughter, mental breakdowns for the lack of a table and that Rimworld story teller is trying to murder your group. Clanfolk seems to be all about the family and building a community. I get to watch as this family slowly figures out how to make the best of a bleak situation and overcome.
The technology pacing is perfect to open up possibilities after you get a few ideas to expand on. I love this on my first play through. It fulfills my need to explore the technology but not overwhelm me with what i need to build or feel like it is blocking my growth by giving me access to everything at once. I can make straw beds after having the ideas of Nails, Boards and a few other things figured out. I’m sitting on a load of gold bars… no idea what to do with them yet though. I get a sense my family is going to be rich.
