Nice little indie bullet hell SHMUP that may be rough around the edges, but the play is solid and that’s what matters the most. The rough parts are the A/V, which is usually the case with budget games. The graphics are underwhelming but functional, it’s the sound that I wish were better, both the music and the effects. There’s just not enough sounds in the game, nor are they very distinct.
Play-wise, though, it’s a real solid effort. It won’t seem like bullet hell on early levels but believe me, it gets there, and the game has a nice upgrade system between levels that add to the strategy. 9 stages with 3 levels of difficulty, 8 different planes, upgrades for main gun, bombs, drones, plus a repair between levels option. A lot going on there for three bucks.
Very basic, straight forward shooter. Solid mechanics, moderate difficulty on standard levels. Nothing remarkable or unique, and I prefer their other stg Vector Strain more between the two. Still an ultimately enjoyable shooter with solid replay due to several unlockable ships that mix up the gameplay a bit with different spread and bomb types between them. Recommend for the value in particular. If you are buying one of the two, go with Ve ctor Strain first. It feels like the more passion project between the two.
