Turns out it is a super fun, challenging game with really a really interesting movement mechanic where you actually have to time your jumps with your little dude’s steps. It took me about 80 minutes to beat it- but it felt a lot longer due to levels like Roller Hell, the Boulder, and any level with the Punchers. It takes a few tries to get a feel for how to control HappyMan, but then you’re off to the races. Easy to learn, difficult to master.
Is this game the most beautiful game I’ve ever played? No, and it’s not even in the same galaxy of the others. But that is extremely unimportant– its fun and charm carry it, and make it totally worth $7 for anyone who just wants a quick yet challenging diversion from whatever game they’ve put hundreds of hours into already. Saw a Twitch streamer play this and I thought it looked pretty nifty. Decided to give it a try because £5 isnt much and whatever it might be a good game. The way this game plays out is actually fun, its got a unique feel to it, while being both difficult and fun at the same time. I really hope the Dev develops this game a little bit more. Maybe add a map creation kit and leaderboards for Individual Levels. And then even go as far as to add longer and harder levels.
